More casting news (again) for The Dark Knight Rises! Two new actors have been cast, one playing a judge and the other a priest.
According to Variety, the two new cast members are Brett Cullen (he’s been on Lost and NCIS and stuff), who will be playing a judge, and Chris Ellis (Transformers and the fourth Die Hard movie), who will be playing a priest.

Brett Cullen and Chris Ellis. I find Chris Ellis to be somewhat terrifying. |
Okay, so not the most groundbreaking news in the world, and I doubt it’s anything to get excited about, but I still think it’s worth mentioning. Also, I do actually have a theory on how a judge and a priest could fit into the plot of The Dark Knight Rises. Here goes nothing: We all know that Bane spends time in prison, so it’s possible that in this adaptation he’s on death row. In that case, the judge could be the one who sentences Bane to death, while the priest could be doing his priest duties or whatever by attending Bane’s execution (which in this scenario would most likely be prevented somehow). Or I guess the judge could just send Bane to prison (minus the execution) and the priest could be there to talk to the inmates. Priests do that, right?
Anyway, my theory is probably way off base, and these roles most likely aren’t even worth theorizing about, but I just couldn't help it. Still, I can’t help but wonder exactly what Nolan plans on doing with these characters.
